EIGHT SIMPLE RULES FOR DATING MY TEENAGE TUMBLR

This site may contain adult images and concepts. I have a kind of warped sense of humor, and I like looking at semi-clothed humans. I’m a mean, nasty person who loves to heap venom on the deserving. I also like cute kitty pictures. I contain multitudes.

I repost a lot from certain people. If you decide this means you should just follow those people instead and cut out the middleman, well, I’m heartbroken but I understand your position.

I don’t use tags consistently. I tried, I really did, but it just never works for me, and Tumblr, which won’t give you a list of tags to choose from, makes it difficult. I tend to use tags more for editorial comment about the item and not as taxonomy (and how boring to have tags like “art,” “photo,” and other things you could guess for yourself). Also, I don’t normally add tags to things I reblog from others, which is eight-tenths of my content.

I am a nerd. Some of my posts run to the esoteric. Live with it. You’re just lucky I have a ban on political content in this space.

I assume you don’t read. I’d post more than 20% original content here if I thought that any post more than a sentence or two long didn’t get ignored. Tumblr appears to be primarily a visual and not a verbal medium, and I am a word and not a picture person, so if you’re looking for more actual thoughts from me, ask me about my personal Twitter account. (The @violetimpudence Twitter account which goes with this Tumblr is only for notifications of new items.)

There is no general search feature here. Because it doesn’t work. Never has. Blame Tumblr, not me.

The “ask” link works. If one of the other tags I use semi-regularly baffles you, or if you’re trying to find out more about me, or so forth, you can use it. I also keep a close eye on the Disqus threads that accompany each item.

Tumblr thrives on reposting. If you have a Tumblr account of your own and you like something here, don’t just “like” it - reblog it! This site has Tumblr’s “nsfw” flag set, which means they don’t show it in their listings. So if anyone else is to see it, it will be because you reblogged something from it.
