Someday I’ll post a scan of part of the sequence where L’il Abner, trying to find work, signs on temporarily in a Caniff-style spy/adventure thriller, but eventually gives up and goes back to his old job because “po’k chops is too hard to come by in this strip.” Al Capp could parody Caniff’s drawing style perfectly.
